KnowSkools treffend zu beschreiben fällt recht schwer, weil die Debut-EP "1 2 3 ... Stupidity" so viele Stile verbindet. Am besten trifft es daher die bandeigene Selbstbeschreibung bzw. Bandbiographie: "The band KnowSkools was formed in 2008 in Münster (Germany). At first there were only long-taking jamsessions. Two times a week everybody was fiddling around with his effectpedals as much as playing his instrument - performing in remembrance of experimental alltime heroes like dj shadow, radiohead, the mars volta, godspeed you! black emperor, battles or long fin killie...kind of funky basslines met doubletime-drums and through looping licks there was much time to turn on delay's speedknobs to create rough and inharmonic soundscapes contrasting wellknown heavy reverbed post-rock guitar sounds...after a few months drummer Kövi decided to record some of these sessions just to listen to them at home. A few months later, after having recorded about 10 sessions in their rehearsal room on 8-track, Kövi was asked to do a dj-set with his JazzwangZoo bandmate Patrick Brakowsky at the AMP (Münster, Germany). Just to listen to some of his session recording over a disco PA he extracted one very straight 5 minute piece and after some hours of cutting and mixing the first KnowSkools-song "Odd Space City" (...according to david bowie's "space oddity" - but nobody ever got that...) was born and was played during the DJ-set at the AMP on november the 6th 2008. After feeling like having succeeded with "odd space city", Kövi started to cut out other passages from their jams, spent another three months in cutting, editing and mixing and finally finished the first KnowSkools ep "1 2 3 ... Stupidity" in march 2009. The ep contains 6 songs - 30 minutes of KnowSkools' very own style of uptempo-post rock or maybe guitar-driven jungle/d‘n‘b plus two guest appearances by Herr Hund singing on "6AM" and guitar player Guddorfo who added some solo guitar on "6A" and "Flex Like A Frog"."
